The South Jersey school superintendent began a leave of absence this week after he was accused of being intoxicated when he crashed his car in Berkley Township last month.
The Stafford Township Board of Education said it approved George J. Chidiac’s leave on Tuesday.
Stephanie Bush, the school district’s director of Curriculum, Instruction and Planning, was named interim superintendent, board members said in a statement.
